And, of course, matching skirting boards, varnishes, oils, and care products are available.

Solid wood floors:

Floor coverings like solid parquet or solid planks, made of real solid wood, are called solid wood floors. These floors are usually made from hardwood (oak, beech, walnut, etc.). However, solid planks are also available in various softwoods (pine, larch, etc.). These wooden floors usually need to be sanded and coated with your preferred surface finish (varnish, oil) after installation. An exception is the solid plank, which can sometimes be pre-oiled. Due to their solid construction, these floors can be sanded and refinished multiple times, allowing for decades of durability.

Engineered parquet:

Wooden floors with a core of solid spruce/fir or multiplex and a top layer of at least 2.5mm thick veneer are called engineered or prefinished parquet. Depending on the format or appearance, these floors are categorized into wide planks, strip flooring (2-strip or 3-strip), and strip parquet. These wooden floors are factory-finished with varnish or oil and therefore only require maintenance with a suitable product (e.g., maintenance wax oil) after installation. Here too, a long lifespan can be achieved by sanding and recoating the surface.
